This is the largest and most complex carving I have produced so far, The piece stands 1.2 meters tall, and is a 3/4 size copy of the original 'Peasant woman nursing her baby', Jules Dalou 1873 and is now installed In a Private garden here in Winchester!
Carved from a single piece of Portland stone, it has taken nearly a year to complete. I first produced a copy of the original from photographs and measurement taken by kind permission at the Victoria and Albert museum London, with many thanks to the curator of Sculpture Alicia Robinson and Assistant Curator Amy Mechowski without which this project would never have been realised.
